Matthias Foremny (conductor)
The german conductor Matthias Foremny (winner of the Prague Spring conducting competition in 1995) started his career at Komische Oper Berlin where he had a successful collaboration with Harry Kupfer. During this time Matthias Foremny conducted more than thirty operas and balletts and his performances of the Britten opera.The turn of the screw and the Ligeti opera 'Le grand macabre'got international reputation. In 2002 he won the first prize in the german conducting competition of Deutscher Musikrat.
In 2003 Matthias Foremny became Music director at Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin and chief conductor of the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle. Soloists like Daniel Hope, Jan Vogler and Christian Gerhaher appreciate working with him.
Matthias Foremny is permanent guest conductor at Komische Oper and Deutsche Oper Berlin and works with orchestras like Staatskapelle Dresden, Deutsches Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Dresden Philharmonic, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Radio Symphonieorchester Berlin, Stavanger symphony orchestra, Slovac philharmonic orchestra, Radio Philharmonic orchestra Helsinki and other orchestras in Italy,Switzerland and Scandinavia. For octobre 2008 Matthias Foremny has been invited to conduct concerts in Peking with the orchestra of Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Warren Mok
Warren Mok , a world-renowned Hong Kong tenor, has performed many leading roles since his European debut in 1987 at the Deutsche Opera Berlin. He has also made frequent guest appearances in leading opera theatres and famous concert halls throughout the world. He is the Artistic Director of the Macao International Music Festival and Advisor to the Shanghai Opera House, Shanghai Symphony and China National Opera House, and recently was in the program planning and marketing section of the Macao Cultural Center.
